The challenge
At most universities, thesis format review is one person. Margins, heading styles, table of contents, page numbering — checked by hand, against a deadline, on every manuscript submitted that term. It is exacting work that nobody enjoys and everybody notices when it slips, and the guidelines it is measured against were written for humans to read rather than for anything to enforce.
What we built
Formalign reads a university's own guidelines and turns each provision into a rule. A member of staff reviews and confirms that set before a single manuscript is touched, and once confirmed it holds — every audit afterwards names the version that judged it. A submitted document comes back with a compliance score, each infringement located exactly, and plain instructions for putting it right in Word.
The university's rules, not ours
Every provision a university publishes is accounted for: either it becomes a rule the office can see and confirm, or it is recorded, with a reason, as something a person still decides. Nothing is quietly dropped and nothing is invented — the standard being enforced is the one the institution wrote, and it can be read back at any time.
